Clueless Gardening

Much to my surprise

Filed under: Gardening — halfassedgarden @ 8:14 pm

By the end of May things have started to grow. That’s buckwheat. I read somewhere that it attracts beneficial insects to your garden. I also used it as an alternative to grass seed in the bare spots of the lawn.

I thought it would be wise to grow what I like to eat. So, I started with corn, broccoli, carrots and black-eye peas. I’m guessing the corn will be the major challenge, but for some reason I’m fascinated by thought of growing my own. Got my fingers crossed.

I know it’s better to have an entire raised garden, but I don’t have the extra dirt. I thought the next best thing would be rows of tiny hills, with trenches next to them. We shall see.

  1. Got to your blog from the seeds of change emails….i like this idea. It’s simple and doesn’t require all the extra soil that a “raised” garden requires. Just wanted to stop by and check it out…..God Bless!
